Writing 16 Segment Programs

The standard segment limit for a Ramp and Hold Program is currently 8 segments. You can however run a 9 to 16 segment program by linking 2 Ramp and Hold Programs together. To use the "16 Segment" feature you simply write 8 of your segments in program (USER #) #5 and the remainder of your segments, up to 8, in program # 6 and use the instructions below to link the 2 programs together. After you link them press Review. The Review will not show the segments listed in program # 6 but if the programs are linked it will display "16-S" after the final segment in Program 5. At this point you can run the program.

There is one rule that you must adhere to when writing the program. The 1st segment in program #6 must be a rise in temperature from the last segment in Program #5. If you need a declining temperature rate prior to your 9th segment it will be neccessary to write fewer segments in program #5.

1) Write a 1 to 8 segment program and enter it into the USER 5 program slot.
2) Write a 1 to 8 segment program and enter it into the USER 6 program slot. (Remember the first segment needs to be an up ramp)
3) Press "F/C", "7", "8". The "16-S" message alternates with off. (If you have newer kiln the "F/C" button is now labeled "MENU")
4) Press 1 to toggle it to "ON". Press "ENTER"
5) Press "REVIEW" to make sure the "16-S" feature is activated.
6) Press "START" to run the program.
