My name is Peggy Pettigrew Stewart, and I own Desert Glasshopper Studios in Cave Creek Arizona. In addition to being a full time glass artist, I also offer glass workshops at our studio. Our workshops bring in the best instructors from around the USA, and also include myself. We encourage all of our students to purchase Skutt Kilns. In our studio, we are all Skutt (GM10's, and clamshells). Currently I am working with Spectrum to purchase the several of the new hotstart kilns for the studio and classes. As a matter of fact, I have serial number 1 for the GM10! Still working wonderfully. And the clamshell - well it is wonderful for what I do. I do some "extreme" warm glass work. I work with System 96 fusible glass & Float glass (lots of it). I use my Skutts for kiln casting too. We do "combing" as one of our "extreme" fusing processes, which the Clamshell is wonderful for. We do experiment a great deal (my husband is one of the top forensic / scientific engineers in the USA). So his technical & chemical knowledge, along with my wild ideas - leads to many new techniques and processes. Currently I have applied for a patent on a special fusing process, which my students named "Glasshopper Plasma Fusion". Of course, I only use Skutt for my kilns in this process! Currently one of my pieces is on the cover of the System 96 catalog. That piece was made in my Clamshell! By the way, we believe that Skutt has the best service & support. I know I sound like a commercial for you - but it I feel strongly about my tools and equipment. And when they are good or great - I like to let everyone know it. Through Lincoln Distributors I just ordered about 6 GM10's for students of my most recent workshop. Anyway, I would like to provide some pictures for consideration for inclusion in your gallery. Please feel free to contact me if I can answer any questions, or be of assistance to you. And in the future, if you wish to use any of my images for your ads - please feel free to do so.
