Skutt Kilns is now offering pre-cut fusing paper. FuseFit is a fusing paper which is cut into convenient 13” rounds sheets. These sheets fit the Skutt HotStart Kiln or any 13” kiln shelf. No more trying to cut perfect circles, the work is all done for you. And, because the paper is shipped flat, it lays perfectly flat on the shelf. This paper is shipped in 25 count packs and is available through Skutt and most Skutt kiln distributors.

How to Use FuseFit Pre-Cut Fusing Paper:  

1. Place fusing paper on your 13” (33 cm) round kiln shelf and make sure it is centered.

2. Place your glass project directly on the fusing paper. The paper will shrink a little during firing so leave a minimum of 1/8” (3 mm) clearance between your project and the outer edge of the paper.

3. If there is more than 1/2” (12 mm) between the edge of the paper and your project the paper may curl over onto your project. To prevent this, place small pieces of scrap glass on the paper 1/8” (3 mm) from the edge of the paper. Fire the kiln as usual.

4. After the glass has cooled, remove it from the shelf and rinse off any paper residue with water if necessary.

5. The FuseFit paper will not stick to the shelf. To dispose of it simply hold the shelf over a trash dispenser and brush it off.
